This is "neat" undiluted pure essential oil of the Turkish Wild Oregano. There is a book on the market that recommends taking Oregano Oil internally to prevent/cure a multitude of ills. If you are purchasing this pure essential oil with that use in mind, please be VERY sure to dilute it in some virgin Olive Oil, before internal (or external!) use.
Oregano Essential Oil is a very strong skin and mucous membrane irritant. If you plan to use it on the skin, please use a VERY mild dilution.

A Georgetown researcher (Harry G. Preuss, MD, MACN, CNS, professor of physiology and biophysics) has found oregano oil may be an effective treatment against dangerous, and sometimes drug-resistant bacteria. Two studies have shown that oregano oil—and, in particular, carvacrol, one of oregano’s chemical components—appear to reduce infection as effectively as traditional antibiotics. Oregano Oil's effects were compared to those of standard antibiotics streptomycin, penicillin and vacnomycin. The oregano oil at relatively low doses was found to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus bacteria as effectively as the standard antibiotics did. Research conducted by the same team found Oregano Oil to be effective against fungal (Athlete's foot, Candida, Yeast, etc.) infections also. These findings were presented at the American College of Nutrition's annual meeting in Orlando

For centuries wild Oregano oil has been used as nature’s ultimate germ, yeast, bacteria and parasite killer. Like most of us at the office, school, traveling, or around young children you are susceptible to becoming ill. Oregano oil is the answer.
General Uses Today
Current usage of Oregano Oil is soaring. Current medical research has found the phenol, Carvacol, to be the active biochemical in Wild Oregano that provides the anti-microbial action and immune building properties. Wild Oregano has an immediate impact on acute germ inundation and it can be used daily of for those prone to getting sick.
Wild, crude, mountain-grown oregano (from the Mediterranean) is the only kind that is naturally rich in 'carvacrols, flavonoids, and terpenes', which give the oregano its tremendous strength.
It is not a booster like Echinacea, but a killer for acute inundation and protection when traveling or if vulnerable to microbial breakdown. It is for active infections, parasitic infections, kills Candida (yeast), molds and can calm herpes outbreaks.
Not only is it good for common ailments, the most active ingredient Carvacrol, has been found useful in combating, gum disease, food poisoning (caused by Staph or Strep usually), sinus infections. nail fungus, athlete’s foot, respiratory infections and urinary tract infections. Oregano oil can be used as an immediate remedy or be utilized for every day continued good health.
When taken orally, oregano can produce a hot and spicy sensation and taste. Consider it as an antibacterial herbal medicine that will kill the microbes on contact.

The History of Oregano
Wild oregano grows in the mountains in the Mediterranean region, its name coming from a Greek word meaning “joy of the mountains.” It was used by Greek physicians for trauma, wounds, headaches, lung disorders, and venomous bites. It was the traditional cure for hemlock poisoning. Over the centuries it gained widespread use for lung conditions, asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, allergies, and cough. Britan’s Gerard, in his 17th century manuscript, explained its use as a top remedy for head colds. The 19th Century Eclectic physicians used oregano as a general tonic and a promoter of menstruation (which is why this should not be used during pregnancy).
How Oregano Works
Oregano contains the most powerful phenols known to man. The primary phenol is called carvacrol. It also contains thymol. Synthetic toxic phenols, frequently used as cleaning disinfectants, have never been able to match the germ killing power of the natural and non toxic phenols found in oregano oil.1,2
A Powerful Anti-Fungal
Oregano is a powerful antifungal, working in the GI tract as well as in the sinuses and lungs. It repeatedly has demonstrated the ability to obliterate yeast, including Candida albicans.3,4,5,6 It has been demonstrated to stop the production of a cancer causing fungal toxin, aflatoxin.7 No yeast species has been able to demonstrate resistance to oregano oil.
An All Purpose Anti-Bacterial
In one study oregano demonstrated strong anti bacterial action against a wide number of bacteria, including E coli, Klebsiella pneumonie, Salmonella enterica, and Staphylococcus aureus.8 Similar findings have been obtained by other researchers.5
Oregano Oil is one of the strongest natural germ killing compounds available, a valuable tool in the immune support arsenal.
Sinus and Lung Problems
Oregano oil has a long standing traditional use history for helping a wide variety of sinus and lung issues. It is now known that the majority of ongoing sinus problems are fungal in nature, which may develop bacterial complications from time to time. Treatment with antibiotics, especially on a recurring basis, makes the sinus fungal problem worse and may start a GI tract fungal problem.
Oregano oil is thus a tool of choice, as it is effective against both fungal and bacterial issues. It has traditionally been used for head colds, cough, sinus problems, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It can be used as needed to help keep the sinuses clear.
GI Tract Help
The potent germ killing properties of Oregano make it an ideal compound to help control the overgrowth of bacteria or yeast in the GI tract. In such cases oregano should be taken with each meal until the problem is brought under control. It can then be used as needed to control any “flare ups.”
It is also a powerful compound for protecting against food borne pathogens. Thus, when eating suspect food (travel in foreign countries, meat products, outdoor picnics, etc.) it can be taken as a preventive precaution to guard against food poisoning. If food poisoning does occur, it is a first line of support.
Topical Uses
Capsules may be opened and applied topically to any skin problem/infection. Works very well on acne, it may be applied topically to a problem area or added to soft soap (avoid eye contact). It may also be taken orally to help clear acne. Should not be used by individuals with very sensitive skin or small children.
Also A Pain Killer
In addition to the germ killings phenols, oregano also contains high amounts of terpenes. These are powerful natural anti-inflammatory compounds. Thus it helps with pain, swelling, bruising, and promotes a general healing/tonic effect.
